Stephanie Hill announces for City Council Alderman
April 23rd, 2012 by SubmittedStephanie Hill has announced her candidacy for Monticello City Council Alderman Ward 2, Position 2, in the upcoming 2012 Democratic Primary Election that will take place on May 22nd. The position is currently being held by Ms. Claudia Hartness.
Stephanie, a native of Southeast Arkansas, graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Arkansas at Monticello and has made Monticello her hometown for the past 22 years.
Stephanie has worked for the State of Arkansas with the Division of Children & Family Services for 13 years and is currently a Family Service Worker Specialist and Placement Specialist for foster children of nine counties.
Stephanie is a Baptist and is the single mother of two wonderful children; Zach, is a 2011 Honor Graduate of Monticello High School and is currently attending college at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville and Maggie, a distinguished honor student at Monticello High School and a member of the Monticello Lady Billie’s Softball Team.
Stephanie has been very involved with different youth organizations such as softball, baseball and soccer. Stephanie is currently the President of the Monticello Youth Soccer Association.
“If elected, I will help and strive to move Monticello into the future. It’s time for changes and new influences to be brought to the city council. It’s time for someone to listen to the people and vote for what the people want. I believe in doing what is best for the community in all aspects and will continue to strive to do what is right and best for everyone. I will work diligently to serve the people of my ward in the best way I know how. I look forward to seeking new opportunities to improve our community. It would be my pleasure to be able to serve the citizens and be able to be the voice for the citizens of my ward.”
